Well, school starts in 48 hours. The kids are doing their final back to school shopping, trying to get back on a sleep schedule, and dreading having to wake up early on Monday morning.
It's been a fantastic summer this year. We took more vacations than we ever have. Went to Ft Lauderdale as a couple, took the family to Disneyworld and met up with our friends, and took my brother's family to San Antonio and stayed in a resort.
My kids grew up before our eyes. My youngest daughter is looking more and more like a teenager and needs to stop growing up. My middle son is also growing while his voice cracks and the onset of testosterone impacts his mind. My oldest is preparing for his last year of high school while also courting his first girlfriend.
Fall is around the corner and it brings back memories and optimism. School brings football, labor day, halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years!
Spring will be here before you know it. Time is moving faster than ever and I just can't seem to keep up...... I really need to figure out how to slow it down and savor every minute.
I hope the rest of the world is having as much fun and creating memories as well.

Spring 2010 Is Here!
The weather has finally warmed up and you can sense the excitement in the air. Lawns are showing hints of green and new life is springing up everywhere.
The sun is providing warmth and thoughts of the upcoming summer season. I'm looking forward to our first dip in the pool and actual sun tan.
My boys both celebrated their birthdays this weekend. One turned 14 and the other 17.
They have grown up so fast. As we move toward that day when they "leave the nest", I wonder what I will do. How much will I miss them.
It's been the most exciting, adventurous, fun, memorable, time I can imagine. I hope they have enjoyed it as much as I and they carry the memories the rest of their lives.
My beautiful daughter is 11 and my precious angel. I want to stop time so she doesn't grow up. She's in 6th grade and about to experience that "change" where she goes from little girl to young woman. I just don't want that to happen.
Time is moving so fast.....I think raising my kids only make it go by faster. Sometimes it feels as if I don't have time to enjoy time.
I have to work really hard at prioritizing my actions and avoiding the "treadmill". Everyday I join the rat race when we all get in our cars, drive to work in traffic, pretend we enjoy our jobs, (or not), then come home to those that really need and love us under the guise of being tired, and with little time or patience to afford them the precious time we should.
That kind of description seems analogous to death by life.
Go out there and find your inspiration, make a difference, and create memories every day.
Hell, start a blog if that's what it takes.

2010 is here....and it's good to be home!
I will be returning to my normal job responsibilities in the next couple of weeks after spending the past 41/2 months on assignment up North. This week will be the first time I've worked in my home city in five months! It actually feels weird.
I need to develop a schedule and calendar to assist in my reentry to both work and home. I'm really excited about being back with my family throughout the week and seeing them in the evenings after school. I never realized how much I would miss this until not having it available. Family time is simply invaluable and should be cherished.
I happened to see an infomercial in the hotel on Tony Robbins, the great motivator. It was really good and I contemplated ordering the books. One of the key things he talked about was being an "agent of change" in your personal life. Go out and imagine the life you want to live, and make it happen. Take the risk, no regrets, no reservations......
I want to do this in 2010. It's "Now or Never". If I wait any longer, i'll find myself at an age where my options may be restricted.
I'm going to sign off now and return to watching the NFC and AFC championship games today. Super Bowl in two weeks. March Madness around the corner. Spring will soon be in the air.
Summertime thereafter. More good times and memories to create......
It sure is good to be home!
