Wow, looks like I somehow abandoned this blog for 7 years!  That's what happens to all of us. We get distracted, caught up in our own activities yet hopefully living life to the fullest although not documenting them for posterity.

A lot has happened over the past seven years.  My children all graduated from High School. My oldest graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with honors and is now enrolled in Pharmacy school.  My middle child is a Junior at the University of Houston and working his way through school.  He is learning more about life than any academic forum can provide.  My youngest child and daughter is attending the University of Texas at Austin as well.

Instead of trying to outline all of the milestones over the past seven years, I will just treat this as reboot of my efforts to maintain some historical timeline that my kids will one day enjoy reading.

I'm now 52 years old, really thinking about the next stage in my life, retirement, and trying to plan for it.  It's a daunting task and a constant reminder of our mortality.  Some call retirement a 25-30 year unemployment experience.  What are you going to do with time and no income?  A lot to think about....

I have a different perspective on blogging.  It's become a significant channel for many people to generate a passive income while advertisers are attracted to how many people visit your blog.  That's not my intention with this blog but am thinking about how to take advantage of this opportunity.  More to come on that.

I will also start sharing some of my recent discoveries and insights to many controversial issues we face in life.  Time, relationships, work, etc.
